River Edge Awarded Three-Year CARF Accreditation

River Edge Behavioral Health Center has received accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International for a period of three years.  This is the fourth consecutive such accreditation awarded to the organization by CARF.

Three year accreditation is the highest type that CARF awards.  An organization that receives a three-year accreditation has submitted itself to a rigorous peer-review process and has demonstrated service offerings that are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality. 

“Community members can use these findings as an international accrediting body’s ‘Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval’ of River Edge operations,” said Shannon Terrell Gordon, River Edge CEO.  She went on to say, “The River Edge 99.8% score and level of achievement is beyond truly remarkable given the size and scope of River Edge operations.  I am so very proud of the River Edge team, so honored that over 12,000 residents of Macon-Bibb and other parts of Georgia chose us for care last year and so happy we’ve retained national accreditation which is  required to retain substantial state, federal and private insurer contracts that fund services for people we serve.  River Edge is honored to bring hope and help, recovery and inclusion to our community.”

In its August 9, 2016 notification letter to River Edge, CARF President/CEO Brian J. Boon, PhD. stated, “This achievement is an indication of your organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served.  Services, personnel and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of conformance to standards.”
