January 8, 2014
MACON – River Edge Behavioral Health Center residential support staff member Irene Williams was recently named the Para-Professional Caregiver of the Year by the Middle Georgia CARE-NET.
“We are so proud of Irene! She is a wonderful asset to our organization and to the individuals we support,” said Greta O’Dell, director of Developmental Disabilities Services at River Edge. “We could not be happier for her!”
The award is given each year to a para-professional serving in Middle Georgia. In her nomination, Williams was cited for her long career as a para-professional and teacher and her “integrity and love wrapped up in a kind and gentle spirit.” Williams has more than 20 years of experience in caring for persons with developmental disabilities, both as a special education teacher and a para-professional.
