River Edge CEO Presents to Georgia College Learning in Retirement

MILLDEGEVILLE —  River Edge serving more than 4,000 people in Milledgeville last year, investing more than $2,000,000 in the local economy and sustaining more than 100 jobs.  That’s part of the story Shannon Harvey, Chief Executive Officer of River Edge, shared with the Georgia College Learning in Retirement Group Friday, June 21, 2014 at the Milledgeville Country Club.

Ms. Harvey thanked the group for the openness and partnership of the Milledgeville community with River Edge.   “Together, we make life better.”  she said.

Ms. Harvey continued:  “ I have 3 messages.  First, behavioral health challenges and developmental disabilities touch all of us.  1 in 4 Americans face a mental health challenge during their lives.  1 in 7 deal with an addiction.  3 or every 100 babies is born with some form of developmental disability.  The second message:  Treatment is effective, and recovery can be expected.  With the right supports, people with developmental disabilities can live meaningful lives in the community.”  My last message: Facing a challenge?  River Edge is here willing and able to help.”

Located at 60 Blandy Way off Highway 22 across from Walter B.
