River Edge CEO Announcement

MACON- Dr. Steve Corkery, Chair of the River Edge Community Service Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Cass Hatcher as Chief Executive Officer of River Edge Behavioral Health. This was the culmination of a nation-wide search over the last several months.

Dr. Corkery and the Board of Directors praised Mr. Hatcher’s performance since being named Interim CEO in September 2022. They were very impressed with the collaborations he has forged with multiple community entities. These actions will further support the middle Georgia community in the areas of mental health, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mr. Hatcher has overseen many construction projects including the state-of-the art River Edge Recovery Center and is spearheading development of a new clinical and administrative hub in Macon. Along with previous housing developments built for some of Macon’s most vulnerable citizens, River Edge will be involved with future homelessness initiatives.

Mr. Hatcher retired as an architectural engineer with the U.S. Air Force at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His military service achievements include managing construction projects totaling more than $1.6 billion. He joined River Edge in 2010 as Chief Facilities Development Officer, where he oversaw new construction projects valued at $23.7 million.

Mr. Hatcher stated, “I’m honored, and I’m grateful to the Board for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization of creative, dedicated, and talented healthcare professionals to deliver much-needed services and supports to promote recovery and inclusion.”
