River Edge Appoints New Chairman
MACON - River Edge Behavioral Health is governed by a board of dedicated community residents appointed by their respective county commissions. June 30, 2002, Ray A. Bennett of Twiggs County completed 17 consecutive years as chair of the River Edge Behavioral Health governing board.
During his tenure, River Edge operating revenues grew from $9M to $53M+ annually, serving thousands, employing hundreds and delivering more than $122M in economic development impact to the central Georgia region each year. Also, during Bennett’s Chairmanship, River Edge has won numerous international, national and state awards.
July 1, 2022, Dr. Steven E. Corkery will assume Chairmanship of this dynamic board.
Dr. Shannon Terrell Gordon, LCSW, CFRE, Chief Executive Officer of River Edge since 2009 says, “The voluntary work of these dedicated gentlemen makes life better for individuals and families who face mental health or substance use challenges or intellectual/developmental disabilities in our region.
